The conference is entitled ‘The Status and Prospects of Establishing Long-Term Solutions in Higher Education’ and it marks the end of the first round of the joint Federal Government-Länder ‘Advancement Through Education: Open Universities’ competition. As well as focussing on the wide range of outcomes from the funded projects, the conference will also address the question of how the courses offered by the open universities can be established over the long term. Discussions about the resulting challenges will take place and will involve all of the affected stakeholders, the academic community and representatives from politics and the private sector.
Since 2011, the Federal Ministry of Education and Research and the Länder have funded 73 projects in total through the ‘Advancement Through Education: Open Universities’ competition. The projects focus on tailored, demand-driven higher education courses.
VDI/VDE Innovation + Technik GmbH is supporting this competition and organising the conference as part of its project management of the joint Federal Government-Länder competition entitled ‘Advancement Through Education: Open Universities’.
