In this Battery Live Talk, moderator Dr. Stefan Wolf, VDI/VDE-IT, will investigate the question how innovative the European battery industry is. Our guests, Michael Lippert, Director, Innovations & Solutions at SAFT and Dr. Daniela Werlich, CTO at CUSTOMCELLS and IPCEI project lead at Cellforce Group will give insights and discuss their views on this key question live from the Hannover Fair at the BMWK exhibition stand.

Up to date, Asian battery companies are dominating the battery cell market. No major OEM can meet the battery demand without them. In the US, battery start-ups like QuantumScape, Amprius ore ONE (Our Next Energy) raise huge sums of capital in IPOs. Is Europe falling behind? How can we get ahead? And can the European battery industry compete with the Asian market leaders without subsidies?

This special edition of the Battery Live Talk is part of the battery programme on the stage of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) at HANNOVER MESSE on 01 June 2022, 10.00 - 13.30 CEST.

We invite you to join us online or at the Hannover fair (hall 2, C34) and discuss with us the European pathway to innovative and sustainable batteries.

What will be addressed?

  • How innovative is the European battery industry?
  • Will Europe be able to compete with Asian battery industry?
  • How can we get ahead?

Participation is free of charge. Feel free to share this event with your fellow experts and colleagues.
