Due to great progress in neurosciences as well as artificial intelligence and robotics, the issue of “neurorobotics” increasingly comes into public focus. Neurorobotics refers to technical systems that benefit from the functioning principles of neurons (neural cells) and the neural system as well as to technical systems interacting with the neural system. The state of Baden-Wuerttemberg is one of the leading production sites in Germany. The research programme “neurorobotics” by the Baden-Wuerttemberg Stiftung gGmbh contributes to meeting the new requirements and significance posed by neurotechnology, neural computing and neural-inspired robotics.
