The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) has launched its funding programme STEP up! – Making Use of PowerEfiiciencyPotential – on June 1, 2016. The BMWi thus implements a new, market-oriented funding concept with initiating the pilot programme. STEP up! funds investments in measures to increase power efficiency. By calling for competition submissions, the use of highly efficient technologies and products in businesses is meant to be supported and encouraged. The ratio of the funding sum to saved kilowatt hours decides which efficiency projects receive funding.
VDI/VDE Innovation + Technik GmbH has been given the responsibility to function as project manager and thus works on implementing the funding programme together with ÖKOTEC Energiemanagement GmbH.
