The German federal government has passed the new framework programme “Microelectronics from Germany – Driver for Innovation in Digitalisation” and thereby funds research intensive microelectronics as a German key technology.
No computer, no car, no industry production, no national identification card without microelectronics. The sector is one of the most important key technologies for innovation. It offers, embedded in new products or as technological bases for services, solutions for central societal and economic challenges. Whether it is in the context of drives or sensor technology for sustainable and intelligent mobility, diagnosis systems for healthy living, communication components for digitalising our society and economy or network control for sustainable energy supply: microelectronic systems are a prerequisite for competitiveness and prosperity in Germany.
