Demography, Clusters and Foresight

Health concerns us all. Illnesses do not just affect individuals, but have an impact on families, workplaces and entire communities. That is why it is our shared responsibility to protect and promote health - for a strong, united community.
Many factors contribute to people staying healthy, becoming healthy or being able to cope well with health restrictions. A healthy environment is the basis of our existence. An efficient healthcare system offers all citizens healthcare that meets their needs. Science and industry are called upon to generate new knowledge for a healthy life.
Fairness, personal responsibility and financing are among the most important issues that society must face up to. The life sciences, with their multitude of disciplines, are in demand here, also in cooperation with others: it is about new medicines, gentle and efficient technologies and protecting biodiversity. And it is about putting results into practice. Only transfer creates broad social benefits.
Health is one of our core topics. We advise stakeholders from healthcare and nursing, politics and industry. Drug research, medical and care technologies, healthcare and public health form the main lines of our work. We support the preparation of broad-based funding programs as well as focused individual projects. We analyze medical need, care processes and value chains and bring experts together - also across professional and institutional boundaries.
The Health Group deals with a broad range of topics: drug development and the transfer of research results into practice, innovative research methods, digitalization and artificial intelligence (AI), health services research and public health. A particular focus is on the importance of biodiversity and its preservation as the basis for human health. The diverse team supports national and international research projects, collaborates in EU projects, conducts studies and analyses, provides background information and advises stakeholders from research and healthcare.
