The concomitant research supports the partners of the individual projects within the technology programme in overarching questions regarding the use of autonomous systems in industry. Legal issues such as liability and certifications, adaptation of working processes and employment, transition of research results to standardisation as well as the development of suitable software structures are part of the issues at hand. In addition, the concomitant research prepares short studies on current topics connected to Industry 4.0 and, if needed, prepares strategies for economic use of the project’s results in alliance with project partners.
The Institute for Innovation and Technology (iit) of VDI/VDE Innovation + Technik GmbH functions as consortium manager in the concomitant research.
