The technology platform EPoSS is a European network focusing on Smart Systems. Smart Systems are miniaturised intelligent systems based on sensors or actuators that are able to assume complex human functions. They represent the advancement of microsystems technology towards autonomous systems. The network is conducted by the industry, aims at advancing the topic of “Smart Systems” and at establishing permanent initiatives for the support of technological development and the European research sector.
Since 2006 VDI/VDE-IT manages the office of the network that has obtained a legal form as EPoSS e. V. in 2013.
