In the coming five years a course will be set that decides if Germany will assume a leading role in the digital age. To this end, the Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport (BMDV) has created a data-oriented R&D- funding programme for the period 2016 to 2020 in form of the modernity fund (short: mFUND). In this context, innovative approaches and digital business ideas will be supported that base, for example, on mobility-, geo-, and weather-data. The project contributes to opening BMDV data: a common usage of data by public bodies and businesses forms a central goal of the funding programme.
Together with TÜV Rheinland Consulting GmbH, VDI/VDE-IT assumes the project management of mFUND.
