The Werner-von-Siemens-Ring Foundation is committed to mastering social challenges with the help of technology research. For more than 100 years, it has been awarding the Werner von Siemens Ring to individuals who have made a special contribution to linking science and technology. At the same time, the foundation offers a network for researchers who have already made significant achievements at the beginning of their careers: the Werner von Siemens Fellows.
The Werner von Siemens Ring award is endowed with €100,000, while the Werner von Siemens Fellow award is endowed with €10,000 per person. The awards are presented alternately every two years.
VDI/VDE Innovation + Technik is responsible for the full organization of the office, develops strategies and concepts and implements them operationally and communicatively.
