Interactive technologies that base on key technologies as, for instance, information and communication technology or robotics optimise the interaction between humans and technology. The latter no longer only reacts to impulses given by humans but increasingly acts autonomously. The ministry’s funding aims to replace an inflexible and mechanic function with a natural interaction between human and technology that resembles the human senses. Here, technology learns from humans – without surveiling or monitoring humans and their actions completely.

As project manager, VDI/VDE-IT supports the Federal Ministry of Education and Research in conceptualising and implementing funding measures directed at human-technology-interaction. We advise in questions on innovation policy, organise project support, connect research partners, and prepare workshops and conferences. Finally, we also design concomitant public relations activities for experts as well as for citizens.
