As an innovative service provider, we develop solutions for the funding process to be digital from end to end. In this respect, the requirements imposed by administrative law act as an incentive to find new ways to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of processing routines and to optimise transparency and data security.

Innovative Solutions for a Digital Workflow

In the PT-Lab, we develop concepts so that project funding without discontinuity of media can be consistent with administrative law requirements. The focus here is on intelligent solutions for handling ‘the need for the written form’ – a requirement that is still very much everywhere in administrative law pertaining to central government. We reveal how individual process chains can be reproduced using fully digitalised workflows. The approaches developed in this way meet the formal requirements, boosting process quality, process security and user-friendliness at the same time.

The Digital File is on the Rise

Paper-based interfaces form the starting point for our work – documents received or sent by post, for example. Between these ‘goalposts’ imposed in administrative law, the digital file is a possibility. Documents are digitalised, made available in document management systems and further processed in digital workflows. Because all data is recorded in databases, this means you can also obtain real-time information about the status of your programmes.

In our advisory work with prospective or existing funding recipients, we are increasingly embracing new tools. Webinars for applicants, video pitches or e-mentoring, for example, considerably increase the quality of documents submitted.

Driving the Digitalisation of Research Funding Forward Together

Digitalisation not only involves IT. Above all, it is a question of organisation. We develop practical concepts and support you in the process of implementing digital research funding. We are now using the experience we have gained from managing many projects to drive forward the digitalisation of administration processes, in partnership with you, and to develop further workflows relating to the digital file.
