The Federal Environment Agency (UBA) receives support for the implantation of a Horizon Scanning System. Horizon Scanning aims at the timely identification of vague signals of social and technological development which, thus far, remain indistinct but whose future manifestations may involve the need for environmental policy configuration and elaboration. In building on conceptual preparatory work, the Horizon process is analysed, tested and implemented on the basis of organisational requirements of the UBA. As a result, the UBA is able to refer to a useful and manageable process during their everyday work.
As contractor VDI/VDE-IT performs the conceptual preparatory work and hence puts into action the implementation of the Horizon Scanning process. In order to do so we conduct professional discussions with the client, evaluate software solutions, test scan-phases and discuss the results in workshops with our customer.
