FAME Logo

The FAME project supports the development and implementation of connected, cooperative, and automated mobility (CCAM) with the aim of making traffic flow more efficient, reducing traffic accidents, and enabling inclusive, accessible mobility for all.

The introduction of CCAM technologies faces a variety of challenges – in addition to technical aspects, uncertainties in social, economic, operational, and regulatory terms must be overcome. FAME addresses these challenges by bringing together relevant actors from different sectors to define common goals, methods, and governance models.

The project focuses on:

  • developing a European framework for testing activities on public roads
  • optimizing the existing CCAM knowledge platform to facilitate access to insights and best practices
  • organizing events that promote exchange and networking within the CCAM ecosystem.

In addition, FAME contributes to achieving the European goals for safe, sustainable, and inclusive mobility by identifying key challenges and systematically developing solutions in the field of automated mobility.

VDI/VDE-IT is one of 23 partners from research and industry in the FAME project. It analyzes the European CCAM ecosystem, supports its networking, and actively contributes to its strategic development. To this end, VDI/VDE-IT organizes networking events, communicates about the project via social media, promotes the CCAM knowledge platform, and strengthens international cooperation. In this way, we make an important contribution to the development of a sustainable and connected mobility system in Europe.
